Thomas Espedal (*1961 in Bergen) made his literary debut in 1988 with the novel “En vill flukt av parfymer” (A Wild Escape from Perfume). Since then, he has published numerous award-winning novels and, alongside his friend Karl Ove Knausgård, is regarded as one of Scandinavia’s most important contemporary writers. His works “The Year” (2019) and “Love” (2022) have recently been published in English translation.
