In her poetical debut, the Basel author Julia Rüegger introduces rocking chairs, glass eyes, pig´s hearts, the opening times of the brain. The poems show a world of possessions colliding with an age in which the very concept of ownership is faltering, as, for example, when urban spaces make way for encroaching wilderness. Always in lower case, sometimes only four lines long and shaped into cyclical forms, we see snapshots in the form of linguistic polaroids – at times laconic and unfathomable, at times furry and tender.
