If contemporary art could embody Dadaism’s spirit of artistic resistance, which reinvigorated art and society during the First World War, what form would it take in 2024? The Sound Poetry Festival explores this question and seeks to juxtapose an oasis of poetry based on the phonetic sounds of language against the strident, conflict-ridden tones of the present. The border triangle encompassing Basel/Freiburg/Alsace offers the space for poetic cross-border encounters drawing on a mixture of languages, dialects and nationalities.
