Long Night of Austrian Literature
Note: Kaśka Bryla is unfortunately unable to attend the reading due to health reasons.
In the run-up to Austria’s appearance as Guest of Honour at the Leipzig Book Fair, we take this opportunity to present contemporary Austrian literature in its many different facets. Joining us are Bodo Hell, cult figure of the avant-garde, who worked, amongst others, with Friederike Mayröcker and has received many awards since the 1970s for his experimental prose, his books, radio plays and films; Kaśka Bryla, whose debut novel The Red Monkey (Der rote Affe) was enthusiastically received, and who co-founded the author network ‘PS Political Writing’ (PS-Politisch Schreiben), and Daniel Wisser, who won the Austrian Book Prize in 2018 for Queen of the Mountains (Königin der Berge), and is much in demand as a political commentator.
The event is being held as part Austria’s appearance as Guest of Honour at the Leipzig Book Fair 2023.
